After Prime-Time pressure, Florida school board drops mask mandate

(LifeSiteNews) – The School District of Palm Beach County has dropped its mask mandate. The district had previously suspended a second grader 38 times for violating the mandate. She may have to repeat the grade.

Fiona Lashells is a student in Palm Beach County who just turned 8 years old. She took a stand against a school board policy that she believed was wrong. For months she did not wear a mask to school, even though it had been mandated by her local school board. The litany of suspensions she has been handed is available at a website her mother created outlining the experience.

At a school board event on September 22, 2021, Fiona told the board members that being suspended is “not going to change” her mind, that she still has “the right not to wear a mask,” and that it is “not fair” that she is “getting punished because … the school board is not following the law.”

She also told the school board that she hoped “they all go to jail” for “doing this” to her.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has battled with various school boards in his state which have mandated masks for students. He signed an executive order in July that prohibited mask mandates in schools. After facing legal action from proponents of mandated masking, Florida’s ban on school mask mandates was upheld by a federal judge on September 15, with the court standing firm by rejecting an appeal to reconsider on September 30.

In an effort to allow parents to have the ultimate decision on whether their children will wear masks at school, DeSantis’ administration opted to withhold funds from boards that require students to mask in spite of the government order. At its October 7 meeting, the Florida Board of Education (BOE) unanimously agreed to impose financial penalties for school districts mandating students wear masks.

Fiona made headlines last week as her story was brought to light in a number of major news outlets, including The New York Post. She appeared alongside DeSantis on Fox News and explained to the hosts that she does not like to wear a mask “because you touch it and you have germs on your hands and then you put it on your face and breathe in all the germs.”

One of the Fox News hosts called her stance against the mandate “impressive” and asked Fiona how she felt about the prospect of repeating the second grade. She expressed that she did not want to do that, especially considering she had “done most of the work at home” that she was assigned.

Fiona was visibly shy during the interview, but DeSantis helped her through the question period when she was asked about “how her friends felt” about masking in school. She said that her friends wore them at school because they had to, but did not like them.

After national media pressure and pressure from the DeSantis administration, the School District of Palm Beach County released a letter to the public explaining its decision to drop their mandatory mask requirement. The board described the change as a “face covering opt-out” for parents.

The science behind why kids should not get (and don’t need) the COVID shot

Vaccinating children would be committing the Original Antigenic Sin.

(LifeSiteNews) — Most of us know by now — despite the efforts of the legacy media and the Biden administration to hide the fact — that the China virus poses virtually zero risk to kids. The vast majority of children who contract it will come down with no more than the sniffles, if they show any symptoms at all.

Even better, once they are exposed to it, their immune systems will ever after be alert not only for the original invader, but for nearly all of the variants that it spins off over time. This robust immunity will probably last their entire lives. After all, the survivors of the much more deadly Spanish Flu of 1918–19 came away with life-long immunity.

“No Vaccine Mandate” You’ll never believe who promised this!

i

By now, you’ve probably heard about the vaccine mandate that Biden announced during his prime time speech.

After touting his accomplishments and alienating himself from the unvaccinated (going so far as to call it a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”), Biden dropped the bomb. He stated that employers with over 100 employees must require all workers to be vaccinated, or tested (presumably at their own expense) or face enormous fines.

How can this be? According to “Google” (which in this case is a good source for what the CDC is claiming),

the government can NOT mandate vaccines.

A quick search of Google yields these results at the top of the first page: of search results

Common questions

Is the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory? No. The federal government does not mandate (require) vaccination for people.

That statement is lifted straight from the highly prominent “common questions” section of the mammoth search engine.

So then. If this is true, if the CDC is right on this one, how does a President go about mandating vaccines—if the government cannot do this?

Simple. Biden’s work around was to enlist OSHA to fine any business which does not comply. The reason he took this route is to distance the government from this mandate. Am astonishing fact which few are aware of, is that OSHA is not part of the federal government.

It is not run by elected government officials, nor did the government start it. It is a private entity. Yet the top man in the White House has given them full power to fine employees who don’t mandate vaccines for there workers.. Nice try, but that still has the fingerprints of the American Government all over it. After all, ithe person who is commissioning OSHA for the job is Biden himself…does it get anymore “government” than that?

Perhaps even more interesting is the past of politicians who are trying to strong arm the American people into full compliance.

Before assuming the office of POTUS, Biden said he was not sure he could advocate Americans taking a vaccine developed under President Trump’s leadership. After the November election, he said he didn’t “think it should be mandatory.”

Nancy Pelosi agreed.

“That’s just not what we can do,” she said.

“You don’t want to mandate, and try and force anyone to take a vaccine. We’ve never done that,” Fauci said.

Earlier this year, Fauci, Biden’s top coronavirus adviser, said a mandate was a bad idea.

“We don’t want to be mandating from the federal government to the general population. It would be unenforceable, and not appropriate.”

$5,000 fines for compliance with Biden vaccine mandate

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis warned Monday that cities and counties in his state that comply with President Biden’s mandate and force employees to get vaccinated will be fined $5,000 per infraction.

“We are here today to make it very clear that we are going to stand for the men and women who are serving. We are going to protect Florida jobs,” DeSantis said at a news conference in Alachua County.

DeSantis said that Biden’s mandate violates a new Florida law, SB 2006, which bans private businesses from requiring customers to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or “vaccine passports.”

The Florida law also applies to governments, he said.

The last thing a government should want to do, he said, “is plunge people into destitution, potentially, who have been faithfully serving and working in a variety of capacities throughout this whole time.”

“These mandates are overreaches, and they will be destructive for a lot of really, really good people,” he said.

Last Thursday, President Biden announced the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, known as OSHA, is developing a rule requiring all businesses with 100 or more employees to make sure their employees are fully vaccinated or produce a negative test result every week.

On Friday, DeSantis said Biden is “acting outside the bounds of the Constitution,” hinting at legal action while vowing to work with the Florida Legislature to oppose the mandate.

In Washington state, dozens of Washington State Patrol troopers, firefighters and other state and local government employees filed a lawsuit Friday against Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee’s vaccine mandate, the Seattle Times reported.

Employees are allowed to seek medical or religious exemptions, but the lawsuit cites emails showing Inslee’s office crafted the religious exemption to be “as narrow as possible.”

The complaint contends his order will result “in certain political and religious classes being purged from civil service.”

It also argues that Inslee’s open-ended COVID-19 emergency declaration is an unreasonable use of “temporary” powers.

Mike Faulk, an Inslee spokesman, contended the “requirements are in full compliance with the law.”

“We look forward to responding in court,” he told the Seattle paper in an email.

Study: Previous COVID-19 infection prevents delta better than Pfizer shot

Largest real-world analysis finds natural immunity superior

“The immunity of recovered COVID patients was clear in the data last year, even as prominent scientists doubted it” ~ Jay Bhattacharya, professor at Stanford

Dr. Anthony Fauci and the government health establishment continue to insist vaccines provide superior immunity to natural infection, contradicting the consensus prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

But the largest real-world analysis to date found people previously infected with COVID-19 are at lower risk of contracting the delta variant than people who received two doses of the vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech

The researchers said the analysis “demonstrated that natural immunity affords longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization due to the delta variant.”

The data, posted as a preprint article on medRxiv, has not yet been peer reviewed.

Significantly, the study was conducted in one of the most highly COVID-19-vaccinated countries in the world. The researchers analyzed the medical records of tens of thousands of Israelis between June 1 and Aug. 14, when the delta variant was dominant, focusing on infections, symptoms and hospitalizations.

Commenting on the study, Stanford professor of medicine Jay Bhattacharya said it confirmed previous research.

“The immunity of recovered COVID patients was clear in the data last year, even as prominent scientists doubted it in the John Snow memorandum,” he said via Twitter.

The John Snow Memoranudum was a letter published in the British journal The Lancet signed by 120 scientists opposing a strategy of herd immunity by infection.

Dr. Robert W. Malone, a key developer of the mRNA vaccine, has emphasized the declining efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines, as evidenced by President Biden’s plan for booster shots.

On Friday, Biden said that he and his top health adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, have discussed moving up the timeline of the booster shots from eight months after the second shot to five months.

Biden explained that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, in a meeting Friday in the Oval Office,  advised him to “start earlier.”

Bloomberg reported Biden’s decision is “relying substantially on data from Israel.”

“We don’t have anything which will stop that transmission to other people,” said Dr. Andrew Pollard, director of the Oxford Vaccine Group.

In a column this week for the Blaze, Daniel Horowitz summarized 15 studies showing natural immunity from COVID-19 through infection is superior to vaccines.

In May, the Food and Drug Administration issued guidance stating a vaccine is still needed to confirm immunity from the COVID-19 virus.

The FDA said “antibody tests should not be used at this time to determine immunity or protection against COVID-19 at any time, and especially after a person has received a COVID-19 vaccination.”

However, Horowitz notes that even the Centers for Disease Control is conceding that immunity from the vaccines, particularly the Pfizer shot, is rapidly waning. A recent Mayo Clinic study, for example, found Pfizer’s efficacy against infection is only 42%.

Red State noted that the 6-point swing isn’t enough to justify saying the vaccine is more dangerous than being unvaccinated, “but the narrative that the vaccine makes it so you are less likely to die from COVID-19 doesn’t hold water in this case.”

Many of the vaccine mandates being implemented in the wake of FDA approval of the Pfizer COVID vaccine make no exceptions for regular testing or proof of natural immunity through prior infection.

Sen. Cruz Fights to Block the American Government from Establishing COVID Vaccine Passports

‘THE CREDIBILITY OF THE CDC IS IN TATTERS BECAUSE LEADERSHIP OF THE CDC HAS BEEN WILLING TO ALLOW SCIENCE TO BECOME POLITICIZED’

July 28, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today participated in a committee markup on three bills, one of which seeks to create a fund for global health initiatives. Sen. Cruz introduced two amendments to prevent the federal government from creating a vaccine passport system and vaccine database to track Americans based on their vaccination status. Read excerpts of his remarks below.

WATCH: Sen. Cruz: CDC Making Decisions Based on Politics, Not Science

Upon introducing his second amendment, Sen. Cruz said:

“This is an amendment that would prohibit U.S. participation in the creation of a vaccine passport. Let me say I think there are a lot of Texans. I think there are a lot of Americans across the country, that are very frustrated at the government responses to COVID-19. I think the decision yesterday by the CDC to reverse its guidance and mandate masks for vaccinated people is the kind of decision that is infuriating people across this country. I believe the CDC’s decision yesterday was politics. It wasn’t science. It was a decision that somehow pretends vaccines don’t work.

“The CDC, months ago, rightly concluded that vaccinated people don’t need to wear masks because the whole purpose of a vaccine is to not get the disease. That decision was right. The science hasn’t changed. The only thing that has changed is the politics. A year and a half ago, the CDC was one of if not the most respected scientific and medical organization in the country. Today, the credibility of the CDC is in tatters because leadership of the CDC has been willing to allow science to become politicized. We’ve seen Dr. Fauci take virtually every position on virtually every subject under the sun.”

[…]

“I believe that when government scientists and health experts allow politics to trump the science, it does enormous damage to the willingness of the American people to believe anything they have to say. I think one of the aspects of yesterday’s decision that illustrates the arbitrariness of this is the brand new decree that everyone in schools must wear a mask. Doesn’t matter if you’re vaccinated or not. If you enter a school, you must wear a mask. Now, there’s no great new scientific discovery that mandates this new edict. Indeed, we’ve seen throughout this crisis that while COVID-19 can be very, very serious for vulnerable populations, for the very elderly, for those with significant comorbidities, that we’ve seen the incidence of serious disease with COVID-19 among children is very, very low. And there’s no credible demonstration that children are a significant vector for spreading the disease. But the CDC, nonetheless, said anyone who steps in in a school must be masked. It’s not complicated. Why? They did so because the teacher union bosses demanded that. That is a political decision. Political players can make political decisions. It wouldn’t surprise me to see elected officials deciding, ‘I’m going to give the union bosses what they demand.’ But that is not what the Center for Disease Control should be doing.

“My view on COVID is it is serious. We should take serious steps to combat it. We have taken extraordinary steps to combat COVID-19, including an unprecedented effort to develop vaccines, hundreds of millions of which have been administered as we’ve come together and fought against this disease. But we’ve also seen stupid policies. We’ve seen lockdowns across this country that have shut down small businesses, destroyed restaurants, destroyed bars, destroyed generational businesses. We’ve seen schools shut down, tens of millions of children sent home for over a year, children who are falling behind academically, who are falling behind in reading, who are falling behind in math. And the children being hurt are disproportionately low income. They’re disproportionately Hispanic and African American, and nonetheless, the edicts to shut down schools have continued. They were utterly unjustifiable.

“My view is simple: we should not have mandates. What does that mean? That means no mask mandate. That means no vaccine mandates. And I will say, it was interesting as I was reading through this COVID bill, section 107, talking about what foreign governments are doing. An awful lot of the description of foreign governments can apply to our own government. So section 107 of this bill says, ‘Certain foreign governments have taken measures in response to COVID-19 that violate the human rights of their citizens without clear public health justification.’ Well, I think you could delete the word ‘foreign’ in that because we’ve seen governments here domestically arbitrarily exercising power as well.”

[…]

“I might remind you that Anthony Fauci in those emails, asked Facebook to silence anyone who said anything different than the government directive on speech, including, if you suggested the origin of the Wuhan virus was actually at Wuhan, China, in a Chinese government lab. And Facebook willingly complied and censored that view. You’re not allowed to have that view that this escape from the government lab. Then miraculously a couple of months ago, the administration was forced to recognize, ‘Well, yeah, there’s actually very significant evidence that the Wuhan virus escape from a Chinese government lab in Wuhan, and beyond that, that it may well have been developed with government research with American taxpayer funding, on ‘gain of function’ research.’ Those views that were banned for a year are now acknowledged as having very significant scientific basis behind them. My view there should be no mandates, no mask mandates, no vaccine mandates, and no vaccine passports, and what my amendment focuses on is just the last piece of it – vaccine passports. I will say, finally, this should be a proposition that is bipartisan. The Biden administration at least claims to oppose vaccine passports.”

[…]

“Vaccines are effective. I’ve been vaccinated. My wife has been vaccinated. My parents have been vaccinated. My wife’s parents have been vaccinated. I’ve been urging Americans to get vaccinated, but I also believe in individual liberty. I believe in freedom. It’s your damn choice whether you get vaccinated. I think it made sense for me in consultation with my doctor, but you have the ability to make your choice.”

[…]

“When the CDC puts out this rule [that] even if you’ve been vaccinated you’ve got to put a mask on, it is the Biden administration that is telling people vaccines don’t work. I actually understand vaccines do work, which is why that is an arbitrary rule to require people [that] have been vaccinated to put a mask on. By the way, we see the kabuki theater here. Everyone here has been vaccinated. As soon as the CDC said that, we saw Democrats putting on masks, not because the vaccine suddenly stopped working yesterday, but it was working two days ago. Nope. Because now it is a virtue signal of submissiveness to wear a mask.”
